On Thursday (April 2), the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) released its final winter standings for the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup. Grand Valley State, the nine-time winner of the Division II Directors' Cup remains in the lead with 660.0 points, 287.0 of which came during the winter sports season.

The Lakers led the standings that were released on March 19, which included final results from men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's indoor track and field, and wrestling. Thursday's release included results from men's and women's basketball postseason play.

Learfield Sports has released four sets of national standings throughout the 2014-15 athletic year and GVSU has been in first place in every ranking. There will be two more releases; the first one on May 21 will cover postseason results for women's golf, lacrosse, and tennis. The final results will come out on June 4 and include all other spring sports.

In the winter, the Lakers' 287.0 points were the fourth-highest of any Division II institution. GVSU raced out to the early lead in 2014-15 thanks to 373.0 points during the fall, which was the highest total in Division II.

GVSU won for the ninth time last year with 1,030.0 points, the second-highest total in history.
