Complete Friday resultsAllendale, Mich. – A total of five records were broken on the Friday afternoon on day one of the Big Meet inside the Kelly Family Sports Center. Along with the broken records, the Grand Valley State track & field teams combined for 38 provisional qualifying marks hit.

The women's team, tabbed fifth in the latest USTFCCCA rankings, pulled in 20 provisional marks, while the sixth-ranked men's team nailed 18 provisional marks.

The most thoroughly dominating event of the night for the women was the pole vault, as six Lakers hit provisional marks in the open event.
Jamie Roberts was the highest finisher among the group for GVSU, placing third with a vault of 3.88 to surpass the provisional and leaving her only .12m away from automatically qualifying for the NCAA National Championships.

On the men's side, the Lakers placed the most runners with provisional marks in the 5,000 meter run, nabbing three.
Bryce Bradley was the highest finisher of the trio, clocking in at 14:12.36 to place second.

Sean Wells broke the GVSU record in the 200 meter dash previously set by Torri Tillman in 2013. Wells' time of 21.62 bested the previous mark by .23 seconds, giving the junior three individual records in his GVSU track & field career. He previously set the record for the 60 meter hurdles (7.83) at the Meyo Invitational on Feb. 6 and he has owned the record in the 55 meter hurdles (7.57) since 2014.

Several facility records and two Big Meet records were also broken on the day. In the women's 600 meter run, Bre'Anna Smith of the Speed Factory set a new Big Meet and Kelly Center record with a time of 1:30.47, while the Big Meet and Kelly Center women's high jump records now belong to Central Missouri's Erika Kinsey after her jump of 1.85 meters, and the Big Meet women's pole vault record was smashed by Katie Nageotte (4.43m). Men's Big Meet and Kelly Center records that were broken were the 400 meter dash by Phoenix Miller of Cardinal Stritch (47.17), Mohamed Hrezi for the 5000 meter run (14:05.01).
