#9 Grand Valley State will hit the road for a key GLIAC matchup at #5 Ashland Saturday (Oct. 31) evening at Jack Miller Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. All of the action can be heard live on the GVSU football radio network with Steve Lloyd-Jones and Greg Johnson calling the action.

Grand Valley State leads the all-time series with Ashland by a 16-3 margin. Ashland snapped a 14-game winning streak by the Lakers with a 37-14 victory in Allendale a year ago. The win marked the first for the Eagles since a 29-14 victory over the Lakers in 1993. GVSU is averaging 35.3 points offensively, while yielding just 17.7 over the last nine meetings. 

• Grand Valley State is in its 45th season of football and sport a 366-135-3 all-time record. GVSU's .728 winning percentage tops all Division II schools and is third all-time in all divisions behind Notre Dame (.733) and Michigan (.732).

• Grand Valley State has the second longest streak for consecutive games without being shutout at 286 games. The Lakers were last shutout by Ferris State (23-0) in 1992. Valdosta State's 289 games without being shutout is the longest streak. 

Last Week
• Grand Valley State jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead and never looked back en route to a 52-7 Homecoming win over Findlay. The laker defense dominated a prolific Findlay offense, liming the Oilers to 250 total yards and just seven points. Findlay entered the game averaging 525.0 yards and 39.0 points per game. QB Bart Williams completed 22-of-36 passes for 383 yards and four TDs. WR Jamie Potts hauled in six receptions for 150 yards and two TDs, while take a fake punt 60 yards for a rushing TD. Kirk Spencer rushed for 79 yards and caught five passes for 42 yards. WR Matt Williams caught four passes for 84 yards and Nick Dodson three passes for 56 yards and a TD. David Talley led the defense with 11 tackles, two QB sacks and three TFL, while Marquez Gollman added eight stops. DE Matt Judon tallied two QB sacks and TFL.

• GVSU leads the nation in QB sacks (-184) and ranks second in the GLIAC in tackles for loss with 69 (-295)...Eighteen Lakers have tallied a TFL, while 10 have a QB sack. 

• The Lakers rank first in the GLIAC and seventh nationally in turnover margin (+12). In addition, the Lakers are first in the GLIAC and 13th nationally in turnovers gained (+23). 

• Grand Valley State ranks fourth in the GLIAC and 12th nationally in team pass efficiency rating (158.66).

• GVSU leads the GLIAC in fumble recoveries (12) and passes intercepted (11).
