Grand Valley State dropped a 42-17 decision to Ferris State Saturday night in Big Rapids. GVSU will host Lake Erie next Saturday at Lubbers Stadium. Ferris State improves to 3-0 with the win. 

Trailing 7-0, GVSU struck back, drivig 66 yards in 11 plays as junior RB Kirk Spencer ran it in from eight yards out. Sophomore PK Joel Schipper added the PAT and the score was tied 7-7. 

Down 14-7, Schipper kicked a 21 yard field goal to cap a 8-play, 63-yard drive that took 2:48 off the clock. The big play of the drive was a 46-yard completion from senior QB Isiah Grimes to junior WR Kameel Jackson. 

Ferris State added a TD late in the first half and two more in the third quarter to up its lead to 35-10.

Grimes hit Potts with a 34 yard TD pass with 1:37 left to complete the scoring.

Grimes compled 14-0f-34 passes for 199 yards and one TD. Potts caught four passes for 68 yards and a TD, while Michael Ratay rushed for 40 yards on 15 carries. Brad Horling and Matt Judon led the defense with 12 tackles each, while Isiah Dunning added 11 and Deonte Hurst 10.
