Box Score Grand Valley State scored on its first four drives and led 28-0 at the half en route to a 42-7 GLIAC victory Saturday night at Lubbers Stadium before a crowd of 7,554. GVSU improves to 5-5 overall and 5-4 in GLIAC action, while Tiffin falls to 5-5 overall and 4-5 in GLIAC play. The Lakers will close the 2014 campaign next Saturday at Saginaw Valley State.

Chris Robinson rushed for 22 yards on the drive and Parling completed two passes to Moran, the first covering 28 yards and the second four yards for a TD. After forcing a Tiffin punt the Laker offense went back to work, driving 85 yards in 10 plays for a second TD. GVSU rushed for 68 yards on seven carries, including the final 22-yard scamper by Parling to paydirt. The third drive for the Lakers might have been the most impressive as it covered 90 yards in 15 plays and took 8:39 off the clock. GVSU kept the ball on the ground for 11 rushes and Parling was 4-for-4 passing, including the 3-yard TD pass to TE Joey Warner to culminate the drive. Drive number four was a 16-play, 75-yard march that took 5:17 off the clock and resulted in a 1-yard TD run by Parling with just 36 ticks left in the first half. GVSU tallied 339 yards of total offense (187 rushing/152 passing), ran 52 plays and held onto the ball for 22:18 in the opening 30 minutes.
The Laker defense continued to pitch the shutout in the third quarter, getting two fourth down stops after the Dragons drove deep inside Laker territory. Tiffin had first and goal from the six and could not score and then was turned away at the GVSU 24.

Joe Robbins for 12 yards on the drive. Following another three-and-out the GVSU offense continued to roll, driving 68 yards in 11 plays as Parling hit Robbins with a 16-yard TD pass.
Tiffin scored early in the fourth quarter before the Lakers concluded the game with a 16-play, 74-yard drive that took 9:56 off the clock.
GVSU dominated the game in every facet, totalling a season-high 34 first downs, 87 plays and 572 yards of total offense (318 rushing/254 passing), while holding onto the ball 39:59. In addition GVSU was a season-best 13-for-15 in first down conversions.
Robinson rushed for 126 yards on 27 carries, while Dorsey toted the ball 17 times for 109 yards. It marked the first time since 2012 versus Wayne State that the Lakers had two backs go over the 100-yard rushing mark. Parling completed 17-of-32 passes for 254 yards and four TDs, while rushing for 40 yards and two TDs. Parling accounded for all six Laker touchdowns. Robbins hauled in a career-high four passes for 40 yards and his first collegiate TD, while Moran caught the first three passes of his college career for 44 yards and a TD.
Defensively, GVSU limited Tiffin to 236 yards and 11 first downs. The Dragons ran just 48 plays and possessed the ball for just 20:01. Senior LB Deonte Hurst led the defense with 10 tackles, while
