ALLENDALE, Mich. – The final five meets of the regular outdoor track and field season await Grand Valley State's No. 2 ranked men's and No. 3 ranked women's teams. Beginning tomorrow, athletes will compete at the Hillsdale Last Chance (Hillsdale, Mich.), Len Paddock Open (Ann Arbor, Mich.), St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite (Joliet, Ill.) and Azusa Pacific Franson Last Chance (Azusa, Calif.). Lakers will also compete at home on Sunday as they host the annual GVSU Last Chance Meet (Allendale, Mich.).

Grand Valley State is fresh off two GLIAC Championship titles. This past weekend, the women's squad earned their 26th consecutive outdoor conference title with 244 points while the men earned their 19th total with 285 points. Following their first bout of postseason competition, the U.S. Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced that the Laker men's team is ranked No. 2 in the nation behind Pittsburg State and the Laker ladies rank third behind Pittsburg State and West Texas A&M.
Lakers begin the end of regular season competition tomorrow, Wednesday, May 6, 2026, as several athletes compete at the Hillsdale Last Chance Meet. Competition continues Friday at the APU Franson Last Chance, Len Paddock Open and St. Francis Fighting Chance meets. Athletes close out the regular season Sunday afternoon as they host the GVSU Last Chance Meet. A finalized schedule of events for Grand Valley State's meet will be posted to gvsulakers.com soon.
Fans can watch the Lakers in action in person at the GVSU Track and Field/Lacrosse Complex. Sunday's event will not be ticketed nor televised. Fans can also follow along with live results provided by Fairchild Sports Timing on Athletic.net.
