ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team claimed a huge 5-2 win over Wayne State at home Friday (Apr. 17) afternoon. The Lakers improve to 10-5 on the season and 4-1 in the GLIAC.
 
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Bora Bakici and Patricio Sepulveda tallied a 6-2 win at the top doubles position. Lawrence Ivanov and Stephen Claassen posted a 7-6 win at No. 2 doubles. Andreu Martin and Jorge Ruiz dropped a 4-6 decision at No. 3 doubles.
 
In singles action, Bora Bakici claimed a 6-4, 7-6 straight set win at the top singles position. Jorge Ruiz tallied a 6-3, 6-3 straight set win at No. 2 singles. Axel Le Ho posted a 6-2, 6-4 straight set win at No. 3 singles. Patricio Sepulveda picked up a 7-6, 7-6 straight set win at No. 4 singles. Lawrence Ivanov fell 6-7, 4-6 at No. 5 singles, while Andreu Martin lost a 4-6, 6-3, 6-10 three-set decision at No. 6 singles.
