DETROIT – The No. 14 Grand Valley State men's basketball team fell 70-68 at Wayne State Saturday (Feb. 7) afternoon. The Lakers fall to 18-4 overall and 11-3 in the GLIAC.
Ethan Alderink led the Lakers with 13 points and nine rebounds on 4-9 shooting from the field.
Mason Docks scored 12 points and dished out four assists on 4-10 shooting from the floor.
David Wilkerson tallied 10 points, grabbed four rebounds, and swiped two steals. Trevor smith Jr. put up 10 points with two rebounds and one assist.
Jalen Charity added 10 points and five rebounds.
GVSU shot 36% from the field and 71% from the free throw line, while Wayne State shot 45% from the field and 30% from three. GVSU outrebounded Wayne State 37-35 and 30-22 points in the paint. The Lakers swiped 12 steals and forced Wayne State to commit 17 turnovers.
The Lakers will return home next week when they host Roosevelt on Thursday, February 12
th at 7:30 PM and Parkside on Saturday, February 14
