ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Grand Valley State women's basketball team kicks off the final week of the regular season with a Tuesday evening Crosstown Showdown at Davenport. The Lakers and Panthers will match up for the second time this season, playing at the DU Student Center at 5:30.

The Lakers are coming off two dominant victories last week, defeating SVSU and LSSU, both on the road. In the 68-42 victory over the Cardinals,
Paige VanStee scored 25 points, shooting 60% from the field, adding seven boards.
Ava Scanlon scored 12 points off the bench. On Saturday, GVSU jumped out to a 20-0 lead, back by three
Nicole Kamin triples, en route to an 87-40 victory. Kamin had a team-high 12 points, with
Reese Gaytan adding 11 points, with both
MacKenzie Bisballe and
Kelly Kray scoring 10 each.
Grand Valley State and Davenport played each other in Allendale in the middle of January, with the Lakers earning a 78-57 victory. After leading by just three points at the half, GVSU pulled away in the second half for the 21-point win. VanStee led the way with 20 points and six rebounds, with Kamin recording 14 points and seven boards.
Avery Lay contributed 12 points.
Davenport enters Tuesday on a four-game losing streak, trying to hold onto the eight seed in the GLIAC Tournament. With a record of 7-19 overall and 5-13 in league play, the Panthers are one game up on LSSU for the final postseason spot. DU averages just over 60 points as an offense, while giving up 66.8 points defensively. Three Panthers average double-figures, with Naveah Williams's 12.5 points leading the way. Davenport has never defeated GVSU, losing all 19 matchups between the two teams.
