Lakers Travel To Davenport Tuesday Night

CALEDONIA, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team travels to Davenport for their final road game of the regular season. Tipoff is set for 7:30 PM at the Davenport Student Center in Caledonia, Michigan.
 
GVSU enters the final week of the regular season with a 20-6 overall record and are in third place in the GLIAC standings with a 13-5 mark. The Lakers fell last week at Saginaw Valley State and Lake Superior State. In the first meeting against Davenport this season, the Lakers defeated the Panthers at 90-50 in Allendale. GVSU knocked down a season high 14 three-pointers in the win shooting at a 51% clip from downtown.
 
The Lakers are averaging just over 78 points on 43% shooting from the field. Ethan Alderink leads GVSU in scoring averaging 13.5 points and is second on the team with 5.5 rebounds shooting 48% from the field and just under 40% from three. Jalen Charity is averaging 13.2 points and five rebounds on 47% shooting from the field and 81% from the free throw line. Trevor Smith Jr. is putting up over 12 points per game and leads the team with 84 assists this season. Mason Docks leads the team knocking down 39 three-pointers and 60 steals this season.
 
Davenport is coming off back-to-back road losses against Lake Superior State and Saginaw Valley State. The Panthers are 13-13 on the season and are tied for eighth place in the GLIAC standings. Ken Walker leads the GLIAC in scoring averaging 21.6 points per game on 43% shooting from the field and 38% from three-point range. Curtis Jackson leads Davenport with 130 assists and is scoring just over 11 points shooting at a 44% clip. Dylan Smith is putting up over 10 points and 6.9 rebounds on an efficient 67% shooting from the field.
