SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. = The Grand Valley State men's basketball team fell 105-95 at Lake Superior State Saturday (Feb. 21) afternoon. The Lakers fall to 20-6 on the season and 13-5 in the GLIAC.
Trevor Smith Jr. led GVSU in scoring with a career high 21 points on 5-8 shooting and 11-14 shooting from the free throw line.
Mason Docks and
Antaune Allen scored 20 points each while both shooting 8-13 from the field with four three-pointers.
Jalen Charity notched 12 points and six rebounds on 5-8 shooting with two triples.
David Wilkerson put up nine points and a team high seven rebounds with two three-pointers and two assists.
GVSU shot 57% from the field and 52% from three while Lake Superior State shot 54% from the field and 48% from three. GVSU outrebounded Lake Superior State 34-28 while Lake Superior State outscored GVSU 38-36 in the paint and 27-10 in points off turnovers.
The Lakers will play their final two games of the regular season next week. GVSU will first travel to face Davenport on Tuesday, February 24
th at 7:30 PM before closing the regular season at home against Ferris State on Thursday, February 26
