th at 7:30 PM and Lake Superior State on Saturday, February 21

GVSU is tied for first place with Michigan Tech in the GLIAC standings with a 13-3 mark. The Lakers are 20-4 overall this season and have won 20 games for the first time since the 2019-20 season. GVSU defeated Roosevelt and Parkside last week at home to maintain a tie for first place in the standings. The Lakers are averaging over 78 points per game on 43% shooting from the field.
Ethan Alderink leads GVSU in scoring with 13.9 points on 48% shooting from the floor and 41% shooting from three-point range.
Jalen Charity scored his 1,000
th career points last week against Roosevelt and is averaging 13. 3 points and five rebounds on 46% shooting and 81% shooting from the free throw line.
Trevor Smith Jr. leads the country with a 3.76 assist/turnover ratio and is scoring 12.3 points on 53.9% shooting.
Saginaw Valley State is 11-13 overall this season and 5-11 in the GLIAC. The Cardinals currently sit in ninth place in the GLIAC standings and trail by two games from eighth place and the final playoff spot. SVSU is scoring just over 76 points per game while shooting at a 44% clip from the field. Xavier Thomas leads he Cardinals in scoring with 16.8 points on 42% shooting from the field and 33% from three. Marquese Josephs is scoring just under 13 points on 55% shooting from the field and 51% from behind the arc. Dontez Scott II has added 10.5 points per game for the Cardinals on just under 40% shooting from the field.
Lake Superior State enters the weekend with a 14-11 overall record and 8-8 GLIAC mark. LSSU leads the GLIAC in scoring averaging just under 85 points per game while shooting just under 47% from the field and 36% from three. Omar Suleiman is averaging 16 points on 43% shooting from the field and 37% shooting from three. Harrison Sorrelle is notching 12.9 points and 3.7 rebounds on 45% shooting from the field. Nino Carter-Smith leads LSSU with 111 assists and 51 steals while averaging 11 points on 48% shooting.
