th at 7:30 PM and #6 Michigan Tech on Saturday, January 31

GVSU returned to the Top 25 of the national poll this week after going 3-0 on the road last week. The Lakers enter the weekend on a six-game winning streak and have won eight of their last nine games. GVSU sits in third place in the GLIAC standings with an 8-2 mark and 15-3 overall on the season. The Lakers are one game back of both Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech who are tied at the top with a 9-1 GLIAC record.
Ethan Alderink leads the Lakers in scoring averaging 14.1 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 48% from the field and 44% from three-point range. Alderink posted his first double-double of the season scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the win at Parkside last week.
Jalen Charity is scoring 13.4 points and 5.3 rebounds 46% shooting from the field. Charity scored a career high 27 points in the overtime win at Ferris State and notched 20 points last game in the win at Roosevelt.
Trevor Smith Jr. has notched 12.8 points and is second in the country with a 3.81 assist/turnover ratio.
Mason Docks leads the country with a 3.88 assist/turnover ratio. Docks is scoring just over eight points a game and leads the GLIAC with 47 steals.
Northern Michigan enters the week ranked 10
th in the country. The Wildcats have won five straight games and are 18-2 overall this season and 9-1 in the GLIAC. Northern Michigan is 10
th in the country in scoring defense (62.5) and lead in the country in rebounding margin (12.6). The Wildcats lead the GLIAC scoring over 84 points per games while shooting at a 48% clip from the field. Dylan Kuehl leads the Wildcats and ranks third in the GLIAC in scoring averaging 19.3 points and six rebounds shooting 54% from the field while also blocking 26 shots. Cal Klesmit is averaging 13.5 points while knocking down 58 three-pointers at a 42% clip from downtown. Jackson Dudek has added 12.9 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting 54.9% from the field.
Michigan Tech enters the week as the number six ranked team in the country. The Huskies are 18-2 on the season and 9-1 in the GLIAC having won seven straight games. Marcus Tomashek is tied for the conference lead and ranks 11
th in the country averaging 22 points per game. Tomashek also leads Michigan Tech with 60 made three-pointers and 60 assists. Gabe Smith leads Michigan Tech with 39 steals and is second on the team averaging 9.9 points and 7.2 rebounds.
