ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team is back on the road for a pair of GLIAC games this Thursday and Saturday. The Lakers will face Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Thursday, January 22
nd at 8:30 PM ET and Roosevelt in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, January 24
th at 4:00 PM ET.

GVSU enters the weekend on a four-game winning streak. The Lakers erased a 19-point second half deficit in their last game to defeat Ferris State 84-80 on the road in overtime. The win marks the largest come from behind victory under head coach
Cornell Mann.
Jalen Charity scored a career high 27 points, while
Trevor Smith Jr. put up a career high 19 points in the win. GVSU improved to 5-1 on the road and notched their first win in an overtime game this season.
The Lakers are 13-3 overall on the season and are in third place in the GLIAC standings with a 6-2 mark. GVSU has won four straight games and six out of their last seven. The Lakers are fourth in the GLIAC in both scoring offense (79.3) and third in scoring defense (65.8). GVSU is best in the GLIAC averaging 33.4 bench points per game, 10.1 steals per game, and are second in forced turnovers at just over 15 a game.
Ethan Alderink leads the Lakers in scoring averaging 13.8 points on 46.9% shooting from the floor. Alderink also leads the team knocking down 27 three-pointers while shooting at a 46% clip from behind the arc.
Trevor Smith Jr. is averaging 12.9 points and ranks third in the GLIAC shooting 55.2% from the field. Smith Jr. is second in the country with a 4.08 assist/turnover ratio.
Jalen Charity is averaging 12.9 points and 5.3 rebounds on 44% shooting from the field and 84% shooting from the free throw line. Charity has scored in double figures in 13 of the 16 games this season.

th nationally with 44 steals and 12
th nationally averaging 2.8 steals per game.
Parkside is 9-7 overall on the season and 3-5 in the GLIAC. The Rangers are coming off a 20-point win over Division III Edgewood on Monday after falling to Wayne State and Purdue Northwest on the road last weekend. Parkside is scoring just over 76 points per game shooting at a 44% clip from the field. Paxton Warden leads Parkside averaging 17.7 points and four rebounds on 43% shooting from the field and 38% from three. Luka Mateski is scoring 16.9 points and 5.1 rebounds on 445 shooting from the field and an efficient 91% from the free throw line. Josiah Palmer has added 13.7 points with a team leading 39 made three-pointers.
Roosevelt enters the weekend with a 2-13 overall record and 1-7 GLIAC mark. Roosevelt ranks last in the GLIAC scoring just over 65 points per game. The Lakers defeated Purdue Northwest 77-74 before falling to Wayne State 78-67 on the road last weekend. Jalen Windham leads Roosevelt in scoring averaging 17.1 points on 42% shooting from the field. Hamahrie Bowers has notched over 16 points and six rebounds this season, shooting at a 49% clip from the field. Mikey West and Dante Sawyer have each added over 13 points and three rebounds.
