Elisa Rizzoli has a team-high 25 kills, hitting .373, with five other Lakers totaling double-digit kills on the season. GVSU has defeated LSSU in 60 consecutive matchups, dating back to 1989, only losing 11 sets in that timeframe.

Saginaw Valley State is .500 in their second year under head coach Lana Rybkowski, going 2-2 at both the Walsh and Cedarville tournaments to open the year 4-4. Setter Jackie Scheiber ranks second in the league with 253 assists, with her top two targets Rachel Townsend and Chloe Vanwinkle each posting over 60 kills. GVSU swept both matchups last season, as part of a current six-game winning streak over the Cardinals.
