Koby Fraaza and
Lauren Kiley have swept the first GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors of the 2025 season following their performances at this past weekend's Michigan State Spartan Invite. Fraaza and Kiley led the men's and women's teams to second and third place finishes, respectively. The men finished just behind Michigan State with 66 points while the women ranked third with 119, trailing Northwestern (18) and Michigan State (89).
Fraaza's second place finish at the 2025 Michigan State Spartan Invite granted him the first GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors of the season. With a 4:46/km pace, the redshirt-senior crossed the men's 8k finish line at 23:44.8, just behind individual champion Riley Hough's (Michigan State) finish at 23:41.1. Fraaza shaved nearly one minute off of his finish at last year's Spartan Invite, where he snagged fourth at 24:49.3.
Kiley opened her senior season with a first place team finish and GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors. At this weekend's Michigan State Spartan Invite, the reigning NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Champion crossed the women's 6k finish line at a near-best 20:44.8. Surrounded by runners representing Northwestern, Cincinnati and Michigan State, Kiley crossed the finish line 10th overall, adding just nine points to the GVSU women's team score.
