ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team fell 4-2 to Indianapolis Monday (May 12) afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Lakers finish the season with a 15-5 record.
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Estefania Hernandez and
Rachel Sam posted a dominant 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles.
Ipek Sakiroglu and
Kalomoira Ralli tallied a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action,
Estefania Hernandez claimed a 6-1, 6-3 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Neus Ramos dropped a 4-6, 2-6 decision at the top singles position.
Anna Soteras dropped a tough 6-4, 3-6, 3-6 three-set decision at No. 3 singles.
Ipek Sakiroglu lost a tough 6-7, 2-6 match at No. 5 singles.
Kalomoira Ralli dropped a tough 0-6, 6-0, 0-6 three-set decision at No. 6 singles.
