Grand Valley State Announces The 2025 Football Schedule

The Lakers are set for six home games

Grand Valley State announced today the 2025 football schedule. The ledger features six home games, including Saginaw Valley State's first appearance at Lubbers Stadium since 2022. 

Season ticket renewals/seat changes will begin Friday, April 25, while new season ticket sales will begin May 1. 

GVSU has led the nation in Division II football attendance for 13 consecutive years and set a season ticket record in 2024. Due to high demand for Laker football tickets, fans are encouraged to purchase season tickets early for the best available seats.

Grand Valley State will open the 2025 season at home versus Lincoln (Pa.) University on Saturday, August 30 at 1 p.m. Game two is 616 Night and will feature an opponent that GVSU has never played, Black Hills State, on September 6 at 7 p.m. The Lakers will then hit the road for a featured national matchup at Pittsburg State on Saturday, September 13. 

Grand Valley State will open GLIAC action on Saturday, October 4 versus Davenport. The Family Day matchup versus the Panthers will begin at 4 p.m. A trip to the Upper Peninsula where the Lakers will square off against Northern Michigan is set for Saturday, October 11 in the Superior Dome. 

The Battle of the Valley's will take place in Allendale this season on Saturday, October 18. Kid's Day versus Saginaw Valley State will kickoff at 2 p.m. In addition, the 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame class will be honored at halftime of the SVSU game following the induction ceremony on Friday, October 17 in the GVSU Arena. 

The Lakers will hit the road for consecutive GLIAC road games at Ferris State on October 25 and Wayne State on November 1.

The final two regular season games will be at Lubbers Stadium. GVSU will host Michigan Tech on Saturday, November 8 at 2 p.m. for Homecoming 2025 and Senior Day will take place Saturday, November 15 versus Roosevelt at 1 p.m.
