#14 Grand Valley State (12-4) dropped a 4-1 decision to #18 Minnesota State Saturday afternoon at Paul Thomas Park in Leesburg, Florida. GVSU ended a four-day, six-game ledger in Florida with a 4-2 record. GVSU will host Gannon in a four-game series at the GVSU Baseball Field March 14-16 in Allendale, Michigan. 
 
Grand Valley State made five errors and walked seven batters that led to all four runs that Minnesota State scored. In addition, the Lakers hit into two inning-ending double plays.
 
GVSU scored in the top of the fourth when SS Evan Morrison and LF Ryan Dykstra led off the inning with singles. Morrison and Dykstra advanced on a wild pitch and DH Jovan Gill plated Morrison with a sacrifice fly to center. 
 
Minnesota State scored unearned runs in the second, third and fifth innings.
 
Collin Bradley took the loss, yielding four runs, all unearned, on five hits with five strikeouts. Freshman Sebastian Talaga pitched three scoreless innings. Morrison was 2-3 with a run scored, while Dykstra, 1B Jonas Gulbrandsen, C Brendan Guciardo, 3B Caleb Estrada and RF Ryan Stimac each collected a hit.
