The Lakers advanced to Saturday following a 60-47 victory over Michigan Tech in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. The Lakers and Huskies were in a battle in the first half, with GVSU only up by seven, but they outscored MTU by 10 in the third quarter to pull away and secure the win. Rylie Bisballe led the way with 19 points and eight rebounds, with Ellie Droste scoring 10.

GVSU swept both matchups from Wayne State this season, winning 80-59 on the road in early December, then defeating them 85-67 at home just over two weeks ago. In the two games, Rylie Bisballe averaged 17 points and five rebounds, with sister MacKenzie Bisballe totaling 11.5 points and six boards. Ellie Droste also averaged 11.5 points and Abrie Cabana posted 11 a game. GVSU has won 22 straight games over the Warriors.

Wayne State took down fifth-seeded Parkside 65-52 to move to Saturday's semifinals. They were voted as the sixth seed in the Midwest Regional rankings heading into the GLIAC Tournament and are looking to secure their place in next week's NCAA Tournament. The Warriors are led by two All-GLIAC selections, first-teamer Shea Tripp and second teamer and member of the all-defensive team Taylor Thompson. Tripp paced the team with 14 points, ninth in the GLIAC, and eight rebounds, fourth in the league. Thompson averaged 11.1 points and a team-high 8.3 rebounds. The Warriors enter the weekend on a four-game winning streak, with their last loss coming at the hands of the Lakers.
