ALLENDALE, MICH. – Postseason play begins Wednesday night for the GVSU women's basketball team, as they host Michigan Tech in the GLIAC Tournament quarterfinal round. The game is scheduled for 6:00 tomorrow night in the Fieldhouse.

The Lakers closed out the regular season in style, demolishing Roosevelt 116-62 on Saturday. Six players were in double-figures, led by a career-high 25 from
MacKenzie Bisballe.
Rylie Bisballe had a season-high 24 points, with
Abrie Cabana adding 19. GVSU won the rebounding battle by 16 and forced 28 RU turnovers in the win. The Lakers enter postseason play at 29-2 and ranked second in the WBCA poll.
GVSU swept the season series over the Huskies, winning 93-52 to begin January, then defeating MTU 69-51 in Houghton on the first of February. In the first matchup, GVSU led 44-19 at halftime and never let the Huskies into the game, cruising to the win.
Rylie Bisballe had 15 points points, with Cabana scoring 12. In the second game, it was an eight-point contest heading to the fourth, but GVSU outscored MTU 20-10 over the final 10 minutes to close out the win.
Nicole Kamin and
Paige Vanstee both scored 14 points, while
MacKenzie Bisballe added 13 points, and
Rylie Bisballe had 12.
Michigan Tech fell to the eight seed on the final day of the regular season after losing to Parkside. The Huskies went 12-16 overall and 9-11 in league play to claim the final spot in the tournament. Michigan Tech won three of their final five games after suffering a four-game losing streak to start February. The Huskies average 66 points a game and are led by three double-figure scorers. Isabella Lenz paces the squad with 14.2 points, followed by Kendall Standfest at 11.8 points, and Janie Tormanen with 11.2. Standfest and Tormanen both pull down over six rebounds a game, ranking in the top-15 in the GLIAC.
