The GVSU star will compete against
12 other athletes from nine different countries. Kosiba enters competition ranked 51
st in the world and is seeded ninth in the event with an entry mark of 2.24m (7-4). He is the only athlete to represent the United States in men's high jump.
Kosiba was asked to be a part of the 2025 indoor USATF team following his Runner-Up performance at the USATF Indoor Championships in February. He cleared 2.22m (7-3.25) to win the title. He recorded the same mark the previous year at the 2024 USATF Indoor Championships.
The Laker heads into world competition with an impressive collegiate résumé. At the first meet of the 2024-25 indoor track and field season, Kosiba tied Jim Dilling's indoor high jump record set in 2007, clearing 2.30m (7-6.5). His mark earned him USTFCCCA Athlete of the Week honors, shattered Grand Valley's school and facility record and remained the best of all collegiate high jump performances through the duration of the season.
The Indiana native continued to be consistent throughout his final season as a Laker, clearing at least 2.20m (7-2.5) through all six meets. The athlete ended his collegiate career on a high note, as he was named the individual National Champion in men's high jump at the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships. His 2.23m (7-3.5) mark earned him the crown.
Fans can watch the World Athletics Indoor Championships air live from Thursday through Sunday on
