The Lakers won their third straight GLIAC Tournament title, taking down Ferris State 79-48 on Sunday. Rylie Bisballe posted her fourth double-double in the win, recording 15 points and 12 rebounds to earn All-Tournament team honors. Abrie Cabana scored 14 points and MacKenzie Bisballe had 10 points. Tournament MVP Nicole Kamin tallied eight points and six rebounds. GVSU enters the weekend having won seven straight and are the number two team in the country at 32-2. This is their tenth consecutive NCAA Tournament and they have advanced past the opening round seven times in those trips.

The Lakers and Hawks met up earlier this season at Quincy as part of a three-game roadtrip for GVSU. Rylie Bisballe hit a shot right before the halftime buzzer to put the Lakers up 28-24. They took control in the third quarter, outscoring Quincy by eight, then closed it out in the fourth with nine free throws. Bisballe had a big game, scoring 21 points and grabbing five boards, with Nicole Kamin adding 12 points. Paige Vanstee contributed eight points and five rebounds, and the Lakers forced 31 Hawk turnovers. Quincy did outrebound the Lakers 38-31, the only team to beat the Lakers on the boards.

Since their loss to the Lakers in late December, the Hawks have got 18-3 over their final 21 games, winning four straight to take the GLVC Tournament and claim the eight seed. Courtney Boyd was named the GLVC Coach of the Year after leading the Hawks to a 25-7 record after being picked to finish seventh in the preseason poll. Leading Quincy is First-Team All-Conference selection Nicole McDermott. She led the team with 15.8 points and 6.5 rebounds, shooting over 45% from the floor and 39% from three. She was joined by second-team selection Cymirah Williams, who was the team's leading rebounder at 9.2 a game, while scoring over 10 a contest, and third-team honoree Marian Blass, the team's second-leading scorer, putting in 11.3 a game. This will be Quincy's 11th all-time tournament appearance and their first since 2016.
