Lakers Host Roosevelt to Conclude Regular Season

ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team is set to conclude the regular season when they host Roosevelt on Saturday, March 1st at 3:00 PM at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena.

The Lakers currently sit tied with Wayne State and Parkside for fifth place in the GLIAC standings with an 11-8 mark. GVSU defeated Davenport 67-54 earlier this week. Kaden Brown led all scorers with 21 points shooting 8-16 from the field with five three-pointers. 
 
GVSU won the first matchup this season against Roosevelt 76-70 in Chicago back in late January. Kaden Brown scored 30 points shooting 9-12 from the field and 6-8 from three-point range. William Dunn posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Jalen Charity added 12 points. 
 
Brown leads GVSU scoring 13.6 points on 39% shooting from three-point range. Brown has knocked down 76 three-pointers which is ranked third in the GLIAC and has made at least four three-pointers in 11 games this season. Jalen Charity is scoring 11.3 points on a team best 48.7% shooting from the field. Charity has grabbed 4.1 rebounds and is fourth on the team with 15 blocks. 
 
Roosevelt is looking to clinch a spot in the GLIAC tournament in their first season as a member of the conference. Roosevelt will clinch the eight seed in the GLIAC tournament with a win against GVSU and a loss by Saginaw Valley State. Roosevelt is 9-18 on the season and 6-13 in conference play. Roosevelt defeated Davenport on Thursday to be tied with Saginaw Valley State for eighth place in the standings. 
 
Forte Prater is second in the GLIAC in scoring averaging 18.5 points and is third in the conference dishing out 3.9 assists. Enari Thomas is second on Roosevelt and fourth in the GLIAC in scoring with 17.3 points shooting 47% from the field and 48% from three-point range. Ramean Hinton has added 12.2 points on 41% shooting from the field with a team leading 7.6 rebounds.
