ALLENDALE, MICH. – The GVSU women's basketball team kicks off the final week of the regular season Tuesday night, hosting crosstown rival Davenport at 6:00 in the Fieldhouse.

The Lakers clinched their fourth straight GLIAC regular season championship last Thursday, in an 85-67 victory over Wayne State.
Rylie Bisballe led the way with 19 points, adding six rebounds, and four steals.
Abrie Cabana knocked down five triples for 15 points, while
Ellie Droste had 14 points, and
MacKenzie Bisballe scored 11. On Saturday, the Lakers took care of SVSU, 93-56. Cabana had 16 points to pace the offense, with Rylie scoring 12 points, including the 1,500
th point of her Laker career. Droste and
Paige Vanstee each had 12 points, with MacKenzie tallying 10 points and six rebounds.
The Lakers and Panthers last matched up in mid-January, with GVSU destroying Davenport 110-51. Six Lakers scored in double-figures, led by
MacKenzie Bisballe's 21 points and four blocks.
Paige Vanstee had 16 points and 10 boards,
Ellie Droste added 15 points, while
Rylie Bisballe had 12,
Kathryn Schmidt 11, and
Nicole Kamin scored 10. The Lakers were one assist away from tying a program-record, dishing out 33 assists in the win. They shot 61.4% from the floor, 48% from three, and forced 30 Panther turnovers. The victory was the 1,000
th win in program history, a number that is now up to 1,010.
The year has been a struggle for Davenport, as they are just 6-20 overall and 4-14 in league play. The Panthers have the league's second-worst scoring offense, totaling 57.3 points a game, and they pair that with the third-worst scoring defense, allowing 71.2 points to their opponents. Forward Ellie Toney leads the Panthers with 13.4 points, while Lilee Gustafson is averaging a near double-double at 8.5 points and 8.0 rebounds.
