Lakers To Finish 2025 At Aquinas

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Grand Valley State women's basketball team concludes 2025 Sunday afternoon, on the road at Aquinas. The Lakers and Saints will tip-off at 4:00 at the Sturrus Sports and Fitness Center.

Last Saturday, GVSU hosted Quincy in their last home game before the new year. They took control early with a 14-0 run, and never looked back, finishing with a 91-46 victory. Paige VanStee posted her first double-double of the season, recording 18 points and 12 rebounds. MacKenzie Bisballe also had 18 points, while Avery Zeinstra added 11.
 
Beginning the season 9-0 this year, GVSU has started at least 9-0 for the second straight season, and the fourth time under Mike Williams they have started at least 9-0. The Lakers continue to be ranked number one in the country, receiving all 23 first place votes this week. Grand Valley State ranks top five nationally in scoring margin (2nd, 31.2), turnover margin (4th, 11.7), bench points (4th, 38.4), and scoring defense (5th, 50.7).
 
This will be an exhibition game for NAIA Aquinas, who are 6-6 overall and 4-3 in WHAC play. The Saints are led by three players in double-figures, paced by senior Isabel Reemsnyder's 14.6 points. Paige Guernsey is nearly averaging a double-double, recording 13.1 points and 8.3 rebounds. Sunday's matchup will be the 32nd all-time meeting. GVSU leads the series 19-12, with the last game coming in the 2021-22 season.
