The 2025-26 Grand Valley State wrestling team, under the direction of first-year head coach RJ Boudro, will open the season at the Michigan State Open Saturday (Nov. 8). All competition will take place at the Jenison Fieldhouse beginning at 9:30 am. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for high school and younger.Â

The Laker lineup will feature two NCAA qualifiers in
Carter Blough (285) and Braden Mirjavadi (197). Blough, who earned NCAA DII All-American honors last season and finished with a 28-7 record, tallied a third-place finish at the Michigan State Open a year ago. Mirjavadi was 21-13 as a redshirt freshman at 184.Â

Sophomore
Orion Wilson was 16-16 a year ago at 125 and finished sixth at the NCAA Super Regional.
Collin Twigg, who redshirted last season, will toe the line at 141. In addition,
Caden Jacobs, 8-6 last season, will compete at 165 and
Bradley Mayse, 12-13 during the 2025-26 campaign, will wrestle at 184.Â
