The top-ranked Lakers are 5-0 to begin the season, winning all five games in either true road games or neutral site contests. In their last time on the court, GVSU traveled down on Findlay on Tuesday and dominated the Oilers 92-57. Three Lakers were in double-figures, led by Paige VanStee's 19 points and eight rebounds. MacKenzie Bisballe added 16 points and eight boards, while Molly Anderson had 12 points. GVSU shot a season-high 59% from the floor and won the rebounding battle by 14.

In their lone matchup last season, GVSU took a 76-45 victory, their sixth straight win in the series. The 45 points were a season-low for Northwood, as the Lakers held them to just 31.3% shooting and forced 18 turnovers. Nicole Kamin had nine points and eight boards in the win, with VanStee scoring six points and grabbing six rebounds. Grand Valley leads the all-time series 66-20.

Northwood is off to a 4-1 start, defeating SVSU, LSSU, Lewis, and Wayne State, while dropping their lone game to Ferris State. The Timberwolf offense has been the key to their winning, averaging over 80 points a game, ranking 14th in the nation. They are led by Lea Holmes and Maeve St. John, who are both scoring over 20 points a contest. Holmes is also pulling down 9.2 rebounds a game and has blocked 12 shots this season. The 4-1 start for Northwood is their best start since beginning the 2021-22 season 5-0.
