ALLENDALE, MICH. – The top-ranked Grand Valley State women's basketball team travels to Findlay, Ohio Tuesday afternoon for a pre-Thanksgiving clash with the Oilers. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00.

The Lakers most recently played on the 15
th and 16
th of November, defeating Walsh and Ohio Dominican in road matchups. They beat Walsh 69-44, then defeated Ohio Dominican 67-49. Over the two games,
MacKenzie Bisballe scored 31 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and had three blocks.
Paige VanStee added 22 points and eight boards, while
Ava Scanlon tallied 21 points and 10 boards.
Lexi Plitzuweit led the team in rebounding both games, pulling down a combined 14 rebounds. The two victories moved the Lakers to 4-0 on the season, maintaining their spot atop the WBCA rankings.
These two teams met in the season-opener last season out in Billings, Montana at the Tipoff Classic at the Trailhead. Grand Valley State came away with a 92-50 victory, never trailing in the game. Six Lakers scored in double-figures, with Bisballe scored 11 and
Nicole Kamin contributing 10. GVSU won the rebounding battle by 14 and forced 25 Oiler turnovers.
Findlay has started the season 3-1, defeating LSSU, SVSU, and Edinboro, but falling at home to Seton Hill. The Oilers are led by senior forward Alyssa Ziehler, who is averaging a near double-double, with 14.5 points and 9.0 rebounds, both team-highs. Three other Oilers are averaging double-figures, with MacKenzie Schulz, Lauryn Auchmuty, and Allie Stockton all score 10 or more points. Stockton is also averaging over eight rebounds and has team-high six steals. Findlay is looking for their second 4-1 start in the past three seasons.
