ALLENDALE, Mich. – The No. 3 Grand Valley State women's wrestling team will host No. 4 North Central College at the Fieldhouse Arena at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23.
In their most recent competition two weeks ago at the Adrian Open, the Lakers dominated the mats. Ten wrestlers finished in the top 10, and the team defeated opponents from Division I through Division III programs.
Last year, the Lakers fell short to the Cardinals with a score of 26-17, though four Lakers earned wins in their respective weight classes.
"We have an amazing opportunity for women's wrestling in front of us. One of the most anticipated matchups of the year—two top-4 ranked programs going head-to-head this weekend," said Head Coach Jake Short.
"I'm very excited to see competitive matches at every weight. I know Joe Norton (NCC Head Coach) will have his team ready for this dual, so we will have to bring our best. Let's go light up the scoreboard and have some fun out there. Anchor Up!" Short added.
The following Lakers will represent Grand Valley State:
103: Rayana Sahagun
110: Sage Mortimer / Ana Malovich
117: Libby Roberts
