ALLENDALE, MICH. – The GVSU women's basketball team continues their stretch of four straight road games Thursday night with a trip across the 616 to Davenport. The top-ranked Lakers will head to Caledonia for a 5:30 tip with the Panthers tomorrow night.

GVSU continued their winning ways this past weekend, defeating Ferris State 83-61 on Thursday and then destroying LSSU 104-48 on Saturday. The two wins pushed the Lakers to 16-1 overall and a perfect 6-0 in GLIAC play, the lone undefeated team in the league. In Thursday's win over the Bulldogs, the Lakers forced 26 turnovers and held them to just 17.4% shooting from three.
Rylie Bisballe totaled 15 points, with
Nicole Kamin adding nine points and eight boards. On Saturday, GVSU blitzed LSSU out of the game, leading 35-6 after the opening quarter, cruising to a 56-point win. Six Lakers scored in double-figures, led by
Paige Vanstee's first career double-double, recording 14 points and 10 boards. In the win,
Ellie Droste moved into 10
th place on the all-time scoring list, currently at 1,324 points.
Grand Valley State and Davenport matched up twice last season, with GVSU winning both matchups. GVSU won 66-44 in Allendale, with
Ellie Droste leading the way with a game-high 15 points. In the trip to Davenport, the Lakers came away with a 78-38 victory.
Rylie Bisballe and
Megan Crow each tallied 11 points, while
Molly Anderson added 10 points. The Lakers have won all 16 matchups in the series with the Panthers, including the 14 games since they joined the GLIAC.
Davenport has struggled so far this season, only 3-11 overall and just 1-5 in GLIAC play. Their lone conference win came at SVSU, 61-59, but they have lost five of six since that victory. Leading scorer Ellie Toney missed both games last weekend, but the Panthers did get second-leading scorer Jaci Walker back on Saturday after missing the previous five contests.
