Lakers Fall in GLIAC Opener

Box Score ALLENDALE, MICH. – In the opening game of GLIAC play, the GVSU women's volleyball team took on Ferris State. The preseason top two teams in the conference battled all night long, but the Bulldogs were able to pull out a 3-1 win.

Three of the four sets went into extra points, as FSU took the match 24-26, 25-27, 25-11, and 26-28. After being down by as many as six points in the opening set, the Lakers battled back to tie the game at 24 each. However, the Bulldogs would take the next two points and the set. In the fourth set, GVSU again had multiple set points, but again could not take advantage of them, as FSU answered back each time to take the final set.
