Jaivon Harrison Finishes in Sixth Place at The U.S. Olympic Team Trials

EUGENE, OREGON – Grand Valley State high jumper, Jaivon Harrison finished tied for sixth in the final round of the men's high jump at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Sunday, June 30th.

Harrison cleared a height of 2.21m to secure a sixth place finish overall.

Harrison ended his first season in a Grand Valley State uniform, as a two-time National Champion after claiming the indoor and outdoor high jump title. Harrison cleared a height of 2.19m to take the crown at the 2024 Indoor Nationals and a height of 2.22m to perform the "sweep" at the 2024 Outdoor Nationals. 

Jumps Coach, Steve Jones, stated, "What an incredible finish to the season for Jaivon. He is solidifying his place as one of the best high jumpers in the country. Jaivon, Eli Kosiba, and Jonathan Rankins-James will continue to work to be the best in Grand Valley history and the country next season. Thank you to Grand Valley for the opportunity to bring out squad to Eugene and have a chance to represent the country in Paris."
