Hall of Fame Reservations

Grand Valley State announced the addition of eight new members to the Athletics Hall of Fame that will be inducted on Friday, November, 1 2024 at the Raleigh J. Finkelstein Athletic Village. The 2024 class will be the 38th class inducted into the athletics Hall of Fame.  
 
New members will include:
Brandon Barnes (Detroit, Mich./Pershing), Football (2004-07)
Joe Brunink (Holland, Mich./Christian), Baseball (2001-03)
Dave DiIanni (Ontario, Canada), Women's Soccer Coach (2003-13)  
Ben Hirdes (Holland, Mich./Christian), Men's Track & Field (2001-05)
Sam Lockhart, (Lansing, Mich./Sexton), Women's Track & Field (2010-13
Katie Martin (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer), Softball (2010-13)
Chelsea Parise (Sterling Heights, Mich./Sterling Heights Stevenson), Soccer (2009-12)
Ashley Smith (Plymouth, Mich./Salem), Women's Golf (2006-10)

"We are inducting another incredible class that represents everything that is great about Grand Valley State and GVSU athletics," said Director of Athletics Keri Becker. "Not only do they enter the Hall of Fame with outstanding athletic and coaching credentials, they also come in as outstanding individuals and we are excited to have them join an incredible group of Laker Hall of Famers."
 
This year's class will join the 187 members previously inducted into the Hall of Fame. The first GVSU Athletics Hall of Fame class was inducted in 1986 and plaques honoring all inductees are on display at the Grand Valley State Fieldhouse Championship lobby.
