BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team fell 4-1 to Wayne State in the NCAA Tournament Tuesday (May 14) afternoon in Big Rapids. The Lakers finish the season with a 15-8 record.
Wayne State clinched the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Sean Miller and
Freddy Cossio dropped a tough 3-6 decision at the top doubles position.
Lucas Gonzalez and
Victor Lopes fell 1-6 at No. 2 doubles.
In singles action,
Jorge Ruiz claimed a 6-2, 6-3 straight set victory at No. 5 singles.
Sean Miller dropped a tough 3-6, 3-6 decision at No. 2 singles.
Lucas Gonzalez lost a tough 4-6, 2-6 decision at No. 3 singles.
Victor Lopes fell 0-6, 2-6 at No. 4 singles.
