Women’s Tennis Defeats Findlay 4-3 in NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team opened up the NCAA Tournament with a 4-3 win against Findlay. The Lakers improve to 14-9 on the season.
 
GVSU clinched the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Taylor Barrett and Neus Ramos claimed a 7-5 win at the top doubles position. Vale Mozas and Estefania Hernandez tallied a 7-5 win at No. 3 doubles. Vasileia Griva and Rachel Sam dropped a tough 2-6 decision at No. 2 doubles.
 
In singles action, Anna Soteras claimed a 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles. Neus Ramos tallied a 6-4, 6-4 straight set win at No. 4 singles. Vale Mozas posted a 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 three-set win at No. 6 singles. Vasileia Griva dropped a tough 3-6, 3-6 win at the top singles position. Taylor Barrett lost a 1-6, 6-3, 2-6 three-set decision at No. 2 singles. Rachel Sam fell 6-7, 3-6 at No. 5 singles. 
 
The Lakers advance to play Indianapolis tomorrow at 11:00 AM in Indianapolis, Indiana. First serve is set for 11:00 AM.
