Louisville, KY – The Lakers closed out their final weekend meet of the regular season before heading into the 2024 Outdoor GLIAC Championships on Wednesday, May 1
st hosted by Grand Valley.
At the Clark Wood Invitational,
Bobby Maxwell tied the meet record in the men's javelin throw with a distance of 61.75m.
In the throwing circle,
Erika Beistle and
Margaret Stevenson finished back-to-back in the women's discus invitational as they earned seventh and eighth. Beistle finished in seventh place with a distance of 50.50m and Stevenson in eighth throwing a distance of 49.96m. On the men's side,
Nathan Spitzley finished in sixth place in the discus invite with a distance of 53.03m.
Joslyn Bentz led the Lakers in the women's high jump open taking home second place with a height of 1.57m. Abby DeOuden finished in third place at a height of 1.52m and Ashley Atikins in fifth clearing a height of 1.52m. For the men,
Ian Trall recorded a new personal-best in the high jump open clearing a height of 1.85m.
On the track,
Joshua Hurt earned fourth place in the men's 110m hurdles recording a time of 14.24.
Ethan Smith finished in eighth place with a time of 14.46.
In the men's 400m,
Myles Rhodes earned third place overall with a season-best time of 47.23, ranking him 18
th in Division II.
Zach Pray finished in fourth place for the Lakers with another season-best time of 47.96.
The men's 4x100m relay team consisting of
Antonio Passarelli,
Max Darling,
Andrew Pizzico and
Myles Rhodes finished in second place for Grand Valley in a time of 40.24. The men's relay now ranks 10
th in Division II.
The women's 4x400m relay squad made up of
Catherine Guckenberger,
Alaina Diaz,
Ashtyn Gluck and
Kate Zang earned third place, recording a time of 3:46.02.
