ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 5-2 win over Michigan Tech Saturday (Apr. 20) evening. The Laker finished the season with an 11-8 record.
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Taylor Barrett and
Neus Ramos posted a 6-4 win at the top doubles position.
Vasileia Griva and
Rachel Sam tallied a dominate 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
Estefania Hernandez and
Vale Mozas dropped a tough 6-7 decision at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action,
Taylor Barrett claimed a 7-5, 7-6 win at No. 2 singles.
Anna Soteras posted a dominate 6-0, 6-1 straight set win at No. 3 singles.
Rachel Sam rallied to claim a 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 three-set win at No. 4 singles.
Vale Mozas recorded a 7-5, 7-5 straight set win at No. 5 singles.
Vasileia Griva dropped a tough 0-6, 6-4, 2-6 three-set decision at the top singles position, while
Sophia Hanover lost a tough 5-7, 6-2, 6-10 three-set decision at No. 6 singles.
