ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team finished the regular season with a dominate 7-0 win against Michigan Tech Saturday (Apr. 20) evening at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club. The Lakers finished the regular season with a 13-6 overall record and 4-2 GLIAC mark.
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Sean Miller and
Victor Lopes claimed a 6-4 win at the top doubles position.
Stephen Claassen and
Lawrence Ivanov tallied a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
Chimo Minguez and
Jorge Ruiz dropped a tough 6-7 decision at No. 2 doubles.
In singles action,
Denys Zamaraiev claimed a dominate 6-1, 6-0 straight set win at the top singles position.
Sean Miller posted a 6-1, 7-6 straight set win at No. 2 singles.
Victor Lopes recorded a 6-2, 6-2 straight set win at No. 3 singles.
Chimo Minguez tallied a 7-6, 6-4 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Freddy Cossio claimed a 6-3, 6-0 straight set win at No. 5 singles, while
Ignasi Garros added a 6-2, 6-4 straight set win at No. 6 singles.
