ALLENDALE, MICH. – The GVSU women's basketball team is set to host the GLIAC semifinals and championship game this weekend. The Lakers will play Parkside Saturday afternoon in the first game of the day, with the right to advance to Sunday's championship contest.

GVSU took down Purdue Northwest in Wednesday's quarterfinal matchup, winning 65-54. The Lakers led for almost the entirety of the game but could never quite pull away.
Nicole Kamin led the way with 18 points, adding three steals and two blocks.
Rylie Bisballe posted her third double-double of the year, scoring 13 points and pulling down 14 rebounds.
In the two games this year against Parkside, GVSU has taken both contests, winning 89-57 on Sawyer's Day, with four players scoring in double-figures. Bisballe had 19 points and nine rebounds, Kamin and
Abrie Cabana each scored 17 points, and
Paige Vanstee added 12 and nine. In the rematch over in Kenosha, it was much tighter, as the Lakers used a second-half comeback to win 76-63. Bisballe and Vanstee each scored 24 points in the victory, with Kamin adding 11 points and seven boards.
Parkside entered the tournament as the fifth seed, knocking off Michigan Tech in the quarterfinals by the score of 51-49. The Rangers went 16-11 this year and 10-8 in league play. They had three players earn all-league distinctions, with Cassidy Arni was the Freshman of the Year, while Paty Gallasova and Sheridan Flauger were both on the second team. Gallasova and Flauger were the two leading scorers for the Rangers, both averaging double-digits.
