The Grand Valley State Cross Country/Track & Field team had four alum competing in the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon on Saturday, February 3
rd in Orlando, Florida. The Laker alums' crew consisted of Zach Panning,
Alan Peterson, Noah Steffen and Hannah Becker.
Former alum, Zach Panning finished in sixth place at the Olympic Trials with a time of 2:10.50, averaging a 4:54 min/mile. Panning led the marathon for almost 22 miles before slowing down around the 23 mile mark.
Current assistant coach,
Alan Peterson claimed a 33
rd place finish on Saturday, recording a time of 2:16.55. Peterson averaged a 5:14 min/mile. Noah Steffen finished in 140
th place in the men's division, with a time of 2:31.00. On the women's side, Hannah Becker placed 97
th, with a 6:23 min/mile recording a time of 2:47.00.
