Lakers Set for Final Homestand Against FSU and LSSU

ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team returns home this week for their final homestand of the regular season. The Lakers will host rival Ferris State on Thursday (Feb. 22) at 8:00 PM before hosting Lake Superior State for senior day on Saturday (Feb. 24) at 3:00 PM.

GVSU returns home after a five-game road trip. The Lakers enter the final homestand in fourth place in the GLIAC standings with a 7-7 mark, and 10-14 overall record. GVSU is ranks first in the GLIAC averaging 37.8 rebounds per game. The Lakers are scoring 72.4 points per game on 43.2% shooting from the field. 
 
Ethan Alderink leads the Lakers in scoring averaging 12.4 points per game. Alderink has scored in double figures in 15 of the last 16 games. Marius Grazulis has scored 10.5 points game and ranks second in the GLIAC averaging 7.9 rebounds. William Dunn has notched 10.6 points a game and leads the team with 38 made three-pointers. Dunn leads the team in shooting percentage, shooting 46.4% from the field and 41.8% from three. Mason Docks has added 9.7 points per game and scored a career high 26 points last week in the road win at Parkside. 
 
Ferris State enters Thursday's matchup with a 19-6 overall record and 9-5 GLIAC mark. The Bulldogs sit in third place in the GLIAC standings. Ferris State ranks atop the GLIAC in multiple offensive categories. The Bulldogs average 85.8 points per game and shoot 50.2% from the field. Ferris State also leads the GLIAC averaging 21 assists.
 
Ben Davidson leads Ferris State in scoring with 13.8 points per game while shooting 50.8% from the field and 37% from three. Ethan Erickson has notched 13.6 points off the bench and ranks fourth in the GLIAC shooting 47.1 from beyond the arc. Dolapo Olayinka has scored 12.3 points shooting 55% from the field and 43% from three. Olayinka brings down 5.3 rebounds and blocks 1.6 shots a game. DeSean Munson has added 10.4 points and leads the Bulldogs shooting 63.1% from the field. 
 
Lake Superior State enters this weekend in second place in the GLIAC standings with a 10-4 record and 18-6 overall record. The Lakers rank second in the GLIAC shooting 48.5% from the field and lead the GLIAC shooting 40.8% from three. 
 
Kingsley Perkins leads Lake Superior State averaging 13.4 points and is third in the GLIAC with 6.7 rebounds. Perkins shoots 55.6% from the field and 50% from three. Tyson Edmondson is scoring 12.9 points a game shooting 45.6% from the field and 40% from three. Xander Okerlund has notched 11.9 points shooting 40% from three, while Devin Womack has added 11.6 points shooting 54% from the field and 41% from three.
