ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Grand Valley State men's and women's track and field program closed out their regular indoor season on Friday, February 16
th as they hosted their final indoor meet. 
Final Results
 
On The Track
The men's sprints crew left it all out on the track this weekend, as they swept the Top 5 in the men's 200m and finished with four Lakers in the Top 5 in the men's 60m. 
Zach Pray led Grand Valley in the 200m, recording a time of 21.73, followed by 
Myles Rhodes in second with a time of 22.03. 
Antonio Passarelli finished in third with a time of 22.15, 
Andrew Pizzico in fourth with a new personal-best time of 22.19 and 
Henry Kennedy rounding out the Top 5 with a time of 22.21.
In the 60m, 
Max Darling finished in second place with a time of 6.92m, followed by 
Myles Rhodes in third in a time of 6.96. 
Zach Pray claimed fourth place with a time of 7.02 and 
Andrew Pizzico in fifth with a new personal-best time of 7.06.
Dominik Balenda and 
Samuel Barger finished back-to-back in the men's 400m, finishing in second and third place. Both Lakers recorded new personal-best times, Balenda with a time of 49.18 and Barger in a time of 50.07. 
Quinton Bauer recorded a time of 1:54.07 in the men's 800m, finishing in second place for the Lakers. Matthew Streeted finished in fourth place with a time of 1:56.05, followed by 
Ethan Parker in sixth with a new personal-best time of 1:56.91.
In the men's mile, 
Elias Bergman finished in first place with a time of 4:07.32, 
Drennan Akins in third place with a personal-best time of 4:11.03 and 
Jack Duininck in sixth in a time of 4:19.69.
The men finished out the night with the 5000m, finishing with all Lakers in the Top 5. 
Daniel Lambert led the men as he claimed first place with a personal-best time of 14:29.43, followed by 
Brock Wooderson who recorded a personal-best time of 14:35.23. 
Ryan Ruppert finished in third place with a time of 14:40.26, 
Colin Kachlic in fourth with a time of 15:05.82, and 
Zac Zemba in fifth recording a personal-best time of 15:09.29.
On the women's side, 
Melia Williams finished first in the 60m dash recording a time of 7.79. In the 60m hurdles, 
Destini Dorkins led the way for Grand Valley as she claimed second place with a new personal-best time of 8.95. 
Leeyah Samuels, 
Brianna Rhodea and 
Madelyn Allman finished 3-6, Samuels in a time of 9.35, Rhodea with a time of 9.41 and Allam in a time of 9.61.
Hannah Bodine and 
Sydney Nesbitt finished back-to-back in the 800m, taking home first and second place for the Lakers. Bodine crossed the line in a time of 2:15.43 while Nesbitt finished in a time of 2:16.06.
The Throwers' Circle
In the circle, James MacKey JR. finished in first-place in the men's weight throw at the GVSU Tune-Up. Additionally, MacKey Jr. broke the 20m mark as he recorded a huge personal-best throw of 20.70m, 1.22m better than his previous best. 
In the women's weight throw, 
Shelby Ulven finished in third place with a distance of 18.16m followed 
Natalia Pluff in seventh with a personal-best throw of 15.54m
The women's shot put crew finished with four Lakers in the Top 5, led by 
Mackenzie Bohrer who recorded a distance of 14.97m. 
Reette Thorns finished in second place with a new personal-best distance of 14.75m, followed by 
Margaret Stevenson in third with a distance of 14.40m and 
Paige Westra in fifth with a throw of 13.95m.
Jump Crew Takeover
In the sand pit, 
Caleb Taylor led the Lakers in the long jump as he recorded a new personal-best jump of 7.15m, claiming first place. 
Luke Jelderks finished in second with a distance of 7.07m, 
Will Gaston in fifth with a jump of 6.42m and 
Chrisly Kelly-Cannon in sixth with a jump of 6.42m 
Pole Vault – The High Bar
Both men's and women's pole vault squads finished with multiple Lakers in the Top 5 at the GVSU Tune-Up and earned first place on both sides. 
Taylor DeHommel led the women's team as she cleared a height of 3.93m, followed by 
Miranda Firari in third with a personal-best of 3.83m. 
Lily Renfrew finished in fourth place clearing a new personal-best height of 3.58m and 
Kendyl Hahlen in fifth with another personal-best of 3.43m.
On the men's side, Grand Valley State went 1-3 led by 
Wyatt Alwine, who was just shy of a new personal-best at 5.06m. 
Colton Emeott finished in second clearing a height of 4.91m followed by 
Dolan Gonzales with a new personal-best height of 4.91m.

The Lakers begin their post-season as they head to Saginaw Valley next weekend to compete in the GLIAC Championships on Saturday, February 24
th – Sunday, February 25
th. The Lakers will then travel to the NCAA Division II National Championships on March 8
th-9
th in Pittsburg, Kansas.
