#11 Grand Valley State closed the 2023-24 regular season with a split at the Ashland Tri meet. The Lakers lost a 24-22 decision to #19 Ashland, but regrouped for a 25-15 win over #23 Glenville State. GVSU, competing as a varsity sport for the first time in 32 years, finished dual meet action 13-7, including eight duals (3-5) versus top 25 teams. NCAA Regional action is next on the ledger for Grand Valley State.
The Lakers dropped the opening match at 125, but reeled off a pair of pins and a decision to take a 15-4 lead. Ashland tallied three bonus point wins in the final six matches to pull out the win.
