OL Gabe Brown And CB Devin Pringle Named D2CCA First Team All-American

D2CCA All-America Team

The Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) announced its 2024 All-America team and senior offensive lineman Gabe Brown and junior cornerback Devin Pringle were first-team honorees.

Brown was a versatile performer on the offensive front for the Lakers and was an integral piece in a GVSU rushing game that led the GLIAC and ranked seventh nationally (247.2 ypg.), while also rushing for over 235 yards in eight games. Brown was adept at both run and pass blocking, evidenced by his 96.3 efficiency rating for the regular season. He was a finalist for the 2024 Gene Upshaw Award, was the 2024 GLIAC Offensive Lineman of the Year and a two-time First-Team All-GLIAC performer.

Pringle was lock-down corner for the Lakers, evidenced by the fact that very few teams threw the ball to Pringle's side of the field. However, teams did attempt to run in his direction and that enabled him to rank fourth on the team in tackles with 44. Pringle did record six pass breakups and was a leader in a secondary that ranked second nationally by allowing 121.6 yards per game passing and notched an 85.95 passing efficiency rating on defense. GVSU set a school-record by not allowing a completed pass in two games (Northern Michigan and Harding) during the 2024 season.

Grand Valley State finished the 2024 season with an 11-2 record and advanced to the NCAA DII Playoffs for the fourth consecutive year.
