Lakers Travel to Indianapolis Monday Night

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team is back on the road for a Monday night game at Indianapolis Monday (Dec. 16) night. Tipoff is set for 7:30 PM at Nicoson Hall in Indianapolis, Indiana.
 
GVSU is 6-2 on the season and 2-0 in the GLIAC. The Lakers have started the season 4-0 on the road for the first time since the 2021-22 season. Through the first eight games, GVSU has scored 79 points a game on 48% shooting from the field. The Lakers have dominated the glass this season, outrebounding their opponents in seven of the eight games averaging a +9.9-rebounding margin.
 
William Dunn leads GVSU in scoring averaging 11.5 points per game on 46% shooting from the field. Dunn tied a career high 23 points in the win against Aquinas and notched 22 points in the GLIAC opening win at Saginaw Valley State. The senior also leads the Lakers with 5.1 rebounds a game.
 
Jalen Charity has scored 11.3 points on a team best 59% shooting from the field. Charity has hauled down four rebounds a game and leads GVSU with 10 blocks. Kaden Brown has notched 10.9 points on 43% shooting from the field and 40% shooting from three. Brown leads GVSU with 18 made three-pointers. Mason Docks has added nine points and leads the team with 38 assists.
 
Indianapolis is 4-5 on the season and is 0-3 to start league play. The Greyhounds defeated Thomas More 73-69 in their last game on the road. Indianapolis is averaging 75.4 points on 40% shooting from the field. 
 
Brody Whitaker leads the Greyhounds in scoring averaging 16.7 points on 42% shooting from the field. Whitaker scored a season high 34 points in an overtime loss against Lake Superior State. Dashawn Jackson has notched 15.8 points on 39% shooting while hauling in 4.8 rebounds. Jackson leads Indianapolis with 28 assists and 15 steals. Dylan Ingram has added 10.4 points on 44% shooting.
