ALLENDALE – The No. 19 Grand Valley State women's soccer team concluded the regular season with a scoreless draw against Michigan Tech Saturday (Nov. 9) afternoon. The Lakers finish the regular season with an 11-1-6 record and 8-1-5 conference mark.
GVSU dominated play outshooting Michigan Tech 25-10 and 14-4 on goal. The Lakers produced 11 corner kicks, while Michigan Tech had three.
Alli French led GVSU with five shots and three on goal.
Ryann Fetty notched four shots with two on goal.
Sophia Morgan and
Abby Winn each notched two shots on goal.
Amanda Palmer and
Emma Chudik each added two shots with one on goal.
Cailynn Junk got the start in goal and made four saves earning her eighth individual shutout of the season.
GVSU finished in second place in the GLIAC standings and will host the quarterfinal matchup in the GLIAC Tournament. The quarterfinal matchup will be played this Tuesday (Nov. 12) at 5:00 PM at the GVSU Soccer Field. The game will be streamed live on FloSports.
