ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team dominated Aquinas 96-52 Saturday (Nov. 30) evening. The Lakers move to 4-2 on the season.
GVSU shot 54% from the field and 48% from three. The Lakers outrebounded Aquinas 47-31 with 17 offensive rebounds. GVSU dished out a season high 23 assists with nine turnovers.
William Dunn led GVSU in scoring tying a career high 23 points. Dunn shot 9-15 from the floor and 4-8 from behind the arc.
Jalen Charity scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds shooting 4-5 from the field and 2-3 from three.
Mason Docks notched 12 points and dished out a game high nine assist. Docks shot 5-8 from the field with two triples.
Kaden Brown added 10 points with three rebounds.
Shamus Thompson grabbed a career high 11 rebounds including seven offensive rebounds. Thompson also blocked three shots and and added five points.
Cam Regnerus notched a career high seven points and 10 rebounds.
The Lakers ended the first five minutes of the opening half with an 18-2 run to take a commanding 46-27 lead into the break. A

Cam Regnerus layup pushed the lead to double figures with two minutes to play.
William Dunn knocked down a corner three just before the buzzer.
In the second half, GVSU started with a 20-6 run to push the lead to 64-32 off another three by Dunn. The Lakers would increase the lead to 40 points on a Docks steal and fastbreak layup. GVSU wouldn't look back as they would get the lead back up to 40 points with just over three minutes to play on a
Tom McNelis made three-pointer.
GVSU ends November with a 4-2 record and will begin their GLIAC schedule on the road next weekend. The Lakers will open conference play at Saginaw Valley State on Thursday (Dec. 5) night at 7:30 PM. GVSU will then travel to Detroit, Michigan to fac Wayne State Saturday (Dec. 7) afternoon. Both games will be streamed live on FloSports and can be listened live Thunder Country 107.3.
