Lakers Travel to Lewis for Nonconference Matchup Tuesday

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team hits the road for the first time in the regular season for a nonconference matchup against Lewis Tuesday (Nov. 19) night. Tipoff is set for 8:30 PM ET / 7:30 PM CT at Neil Carey Arena in Romeoville, Illinois.

GVSU is 1-1 to start the 2024-25 season. The Lakers opened the season with a dominant 105-68 win against Walsh shooting 65% from the field and 52% from three. The Lakers would fall to Ashland 68-66 on a buzzer beater in the final game of the opening weekend.
 
Kaden Brown led GVSU with 18 points on 7-11 shooting with four made three pointers in the win over Walsh. Charles Turner scored 14 points with three made three pointers and William Dunn notched 13 points and six rebounds. Mason Docks dished out a career high 10 assists. 
 
Ethan Alderink and Jalen Charity lead GVSU in scoring through the first two games averaging 11.5 points. Alderink scored a team high 18 points and seven rebounds in the loss to Ashland while Charity scored 14 points in the loss to Ashland. Mason Docks is averaging 10 points after scoring 15 points against Ashland. 
 
Lewis has started the season 2-1 with wins against Malone and Tiffin. The Flyers fell in their last game to Ferris State. Through three games, Lewis is averaging 72 points while shooting 40% from the field and 20% from three. 
 
Rob Stroud leads the Flyers with 19 points per game on 55% shooting from the field and 50% from three. Stroud scored 25 points in the season opener against Malone shooting 8-10 from the field, while swiping three steals. Paxton Warden is averaging 13 points and five rebounds to start the season. Warden scored 18 points in each of the first two games against Malone and Tiffin including four steals in the win over Tiffin.
