ALLENDALE, MICH. – The third-ranked GVSU women's basketball team heads out on the road for their lone game of the week, traveling down to Crestview Hills, Kentucky to take on Thomas More Friday afternoon.

The Lakers cruised to two home victories last weekend, taking down Ohio Dominican 94-43 and Walsh 85-41. They are now 5-0 to begin the season for the fourth straight season. In Saturday's win over the Panthers,
Rylie Bisballe scored 14 points to lead the way, with
Ellie Droste adding 13, and
Avery Zeinstra had 10. On Sunday, Droste had 12, with Bisballe recording 11 points and eight rebounds.
Abrie Cabana also scored 11, and
Megan Crow went a perfect 5-5 from the floor to finish with 10 points. In the two games, they won the rebounding battle by a combined 49 boards and forced 42 turnovers.
Last season, in the first ever meeting between the two schools, GVSU came away with an 85-36 victory in Allendale. Five Lakers scored in double-figures, led by Droste's 17 points. GVSU shot a season-high 52% from beyond the arc in the win, with Droste,
Abrie Cabana, and
Avery Zeinstra all hitting three triples each. They outrebounded the Saints 44-20 and forced 17 turnovers, holding Thomas More to 28% from the floor, their second lowest of the season.
Thomas More lost their opening two games of the season, falling to Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech in neutral site contests. They struggled shooting in the two games, connecting on just 34.2% from the floor and 22.7% from deep. They averaged 52.5 points, led by Laney Baker's 9.5. The Saints play very well on their home floor, going 54-3 over the past four years, including 11-2 last year, their first as a Division II program.
